Volunteer Athletic Development Coaches: Get Involved!

Ulster Rugby is seeking to recruit Volunteer Athletic Development Coaches for an initial period between June and September 2021, based at either at Newforge Country Club, Newforge Lane, Belfast or Kingspan Stadium, Belfast. This is an opportunity for volunteers to become involved in the Development Pathway within Ulster Rugby. The Volunteer Athletic Development Coach will provide coaching support to the players and contribute to a positive learning environment aimed at developing representative rugby players in Ulster. This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience working in athletic development. Key tasks include:
  • Contributing to the coaching delivery of athletic development programs.
  • Collaborating effectively with the wider athletic development, medical and coaching staff.
  • Supporting the profiling of players athletic development abilities.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the players in Ulster.
  • Increase your practical and technical coaching skills.
  • Develop professional relationships with support staff within Ulster Rugby.
  • Be part of a support team whereby player welfare (physical and emotional) is central to their individual player development.
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary coaching team.

Everyone who expresses an interest will be asked to complete a volunteer registration form which will form the basis for shortlisting. Everyone who has been shortlisted will be invited to participate in an informal selection process to identify the most suitable volunteer for the opportunity. The deadline for completed forms to be returned to Ulster Rugby is 9am on Friday 14th May.
