Volunteer Focus: Stuart McAlister

Hear how GoldMark volunteer Stuart McAlister got involved in volunteering, and his experience... "I started as a GoldMark Volunteer in September 2018 after being asked to take on the role by my PE teacher at Larne Grammar School, Mr Stirling. "The role essentially involves collecting various rugby team-sheets each week from the school rugby coaches and submitting them to Ulster Rugby via the website. The task is fairly straightforward and is one which I have enjoyed doing over the course of the season. The website is fairly easy to navigate so the job doesn’t take too long and I know that if I run into any problems there is always someone I can contact at Ulster Rugby to help me out. "Nicci (Wilson, Ulster Rugby Volunteer Development Officer) also keeps in regular contact and visits me at school to make sure everything is going well. I have also attended a Volunteer evening at the Kingspan Stadium were I received a certificate for being a volunteer. "It has been good to receive tickets for a number of Ulster matches at Kingspan Stadium and to get some Ulster kit as part of the role. I’m really glad that I was chosen by the school to be a volunteer and look forward to doing it again next season. I would encourage anyone who is asked to become a GoldMark Volunteer to get involved."
