World Police & Fire Games highlights benefits of volunteering

The recent World Police & Fire Games were a great opportunity to raise the profile of sports volunteering. Ulster Rugby's Volunteer & Policy Development Officer, Kerry Spence, was delighted to be one of the 3500 volunteers supporting the games.

She said: 'This has been such a great experience and an opportunity to meet lots of new people. Volunteers are vital to the success of all sports, from big events like the WPFG to local clubs, so hopefully some of the volunteers will look to follow up on their experience here by continuing to volunteer in sports.’

If you love rugby why not get involved as a volunteer with your local rugby club or in the range of opportunities that are being developed by Ulster Rugby?

Everyone has something to offer as a sports volunteer even if you have never volunteered or been involved in sports before. From coaching children, young people or adults to organising events, fundraising, maintenance, grounds-keeping and so much more.
