Following a successful introduction last year, the X7s initiative has returned for the 2018/19 season.
The idea behind X7s is to keep players playing the game of rugby, providing another outlet for people who have dropped out of the game or are unable to play on Saturday’s, while also being a less competitive environment to attract new players.
X7s has a social ethos behind it - it is about coming and enjoying the rugby in a fun and safe environment.
Last year saw eight clubs and more than 100 players get involved, resulting in 21 players getting back into playing regular rugby.
Upcoming X7s events:
Malone RFC – Wednesday 29th August
Queens RFC – Wednesday 26th September
CIYMS RFC – Wednesday 24th October
Shaw’s Bridge – Wednesday 28th November
The key details:
- 7pm start
- 7 a side teams
- 7 minute halves
- Half pitch (across the pitch)
- Rolling subs
If any clubs or players are interested or want more information on the events, please contact Neill.Alcorn@ulsterrugby.com.
