The Bank of Ireland Senior Cup continues this weekend with a further four fixtures down for decision. While some clubs got their campaigns off to winning start, others will be entering the last chance saloon as they race for top spot gathers momentum.
In Group 1 Banbridge host City of Armagh at Rifle Park.
Banbridge beat Dungannon in convincing fashion last week, and with home advantage in their favour, they’ll be hoping for a similar result again this week.
For City of Armagh, after last week’s defeat to Ballynahinch, it a game that falls into the must win category if they are to keep alive any hopes of reaching this year’s final.
Ballynahinch are back on the road to face Dungannon at Stevenson Park, and if the holders back up last week’s win with another victory on the road, it will leave Mike Orchin McKeever’s side in a strong position going into the final round of fixtures.
Clogher Valley kicked off their Group 2 campaign in the best possible fashion with a 27-21 win over Ballymena in Eaton Park.
This weekend they welcome Queens University to Fivemiletown in the knowledge that another win will put them in a strong position going into the final round.
Instonians game with Queens University didn’t take place, so they'll will be eager to get back on the grass this weekend.
They host Ballymena at Shaw’s Bridge where the visitors will be hoping to bounce back from last week’s reverse against Clogher Valley.
In the Bank of Ireland Senior Shield, Rainey could take a big step to sealing a place in this year’s final if they can gain a positive result at Gibson Park against Malone.
But they will be coming up against a home side determined to build on last week’s thrilling 31-all draw with Ballyclare.
Ballyclare meanwhile are on the road this week to Enniskillen.
The Fermanagh side ran in six-tries against Rainey last week, but they were pipped at the post by the Magherafelt men 47-43.
Saturday’s game will is also Enniskillen first home game as a senior club, and they’ll no doubt be keen to mark the occasion with a home win.
