Ulster Under 18 Schools Head Coach Daryl Maxwell has stuck with the starting team that started last week’s defeat to Munster as the province prepare to welcome Leinster to Rifle Park Banbridge for their final PwC Interprovincial Championship game of the season. Kick-off 1pm.
Despite last weekend’s heartbreaking reverse to Munster, the Ulster boys remain firmly in the hunt for Interprovincial glory. But to do so they must first take the scalp of Leinster.
Nine days ago, at Energia Park the sides played out a thrilling 24-all draw, and all indications point to an equally exciting contest in Banbridge.
Adam Crone, Dylan Armstrong and Reuben Gibson are again named to start in the front row, with Will Downey and Oscar Eddis continuing in the second row.
Methodist College’s James Reid packs down at number 8, with Elliot Magowan and Royal School Armagh’s James Flangan completing the back row.
Rocco Steen continues at scrumhalf with Jack Best remaining at fly-half.
Captain Jonnie Kennedy is named at inside centre where he is joined by Wallace High School’s Will Rogers.
Zach Thompson is named on the left wing with Ballymena Academy’s Zac Topping taking up position on the right, with Royal Belfast Academical Institution’s Dylan Gray again, named at full back.
On the bench Issac Crawford, Matthew Watkins and Conor McKinney provide the front row cover with Elijah Fitzpatrick and Ben Ellis providing additional forward support.
There are returns to the matchday 23 for both Alex Turkington and Lucas McKeown. McKeown was among the tries in Ulster’s opening day win over Munster and their return to the squad is a welcome boost to Maxwell.
Providing cover out wide will be Campbell College's Jack Thompson.
