Ulster Under 18 Head Coach Paddy Browne has named his matchday squad for Sunday’s opening PwC Interprovincial clash with Leinster at Energia Park. Kick-off 3pm.
After a summer of hard graft and several testing challenge matches, the squad are now ready to take their learnings from pre-season into what is sure to be another exciting interpro campaign.
In all, 16 clubs are represented for Sunday’s trip to Dublin which is further testament to the great work being undertaken by clubs and their coaches in developing young players.
Captain for the season opener is Carrickfergus hooker Corbin Marsden, and he’s joined in the front row by Joe Ballie and Ben Ledie.
Ewan Morrison of Belfast High School Former Pupils joins Rainey’s James Fullerton in the second row, with Matthew Laird, Logan Clarke and Joe Rice D’Cruze being named to start in the back row.
Freddy Harris gets the nod at scrumhalf, and he is joined at half back by Joel Clarke.
Last season’s Ulster Boys Youth Player of the Year Ayrton Pienaar is named at inside centre, and he’ll be joined by Isaac Neil of Dungannon in the midfield.
Jacob Ennis-McManus and JJ McVeigh start on the left and right wings respectively, while Ballymoney’s Luke McMillan gets the nod at full back.
Joel Marrion, Aydan Byrne and Ryan Mitchell provide the front row cover, with additional forward back-up being provided by Alexander Courtney and Joey Carson.
Jed Poutney, Reuben Nicholl and Evan Prior have been named as replacements for the backs.
