Under 18 Clubs Team named for Munster Encounter

The Ulster Under 18 Clubs side continue their interprovincial campaign this Saturday with an away trip Munster, and Head Coach Paddy Browne has made three changes to the starting XV following last week’s reverse to Leinster. 

It was for large parts a very evenly contested affair in Dublin last week, before a late Leinster double gave the scoreboard a lobbed sided look. 

The side is captained by Carrickfergus RFC’s Corbin Marsden who starts at hooker with Joe Baillie and Ben Ledlie the starting props. 

Ewan Morrison of Belfast High School Former Pupils RFC and Rainey’s and James Fullerton continue in the engine room, but there is one change in the backrow. 

Ards RFC’s Joey Carson comes in at blindside flanker in place of Matthew Laird who moves to the bench. Logan Cooke continues at openside with Joe Rice D’Cruze at number 8.

Freddy Harris retains the scrumhalf berth with Dungannon RFC’s Joel Clarke continuing at fly-half. 

Ayrton Pienaar and Isaac Neil hold on to their respective centre positions, while last week’s try scorer, Jacob Ennis-McManus is on the left wing. 

There’s a new face on the right wing with Rainey RFC’s Niall Kelly being given a start while Coleraine RFC’s Reuben Nicholl comes in at full back. 

 On the bench, hooker Joel Marrion is joined by props Aydan Byrne and Ryan Mitchell with Alexander Courtney joining Laird in additional forward cover. 

Bangor RFC’s Jed Poutney and Evan Prior also retain their place in the matchday squad from last week and they are joined by Carrickfergus RFC’s Rhys Johnston in providing back-up options for the backs.
