Under 19's Matchday squad named for Interprovincial opener

The Ulster Under 19 team has been named for their trip to Leinster for Sunday’s opening Interprovincial game at Energia Park. Kick-off 5pm.

 

Head Coach Ricky Andrew’s squad is backboned by last season’s Danske Bank Schools Cup winning Campbell College, with no less than six members of Richie McMaster’s side named in the matchday 23. 

McMaster himself is also involved as one of the team’s coaches along with former Ulster senior player, Kyle McCall. 

The team is captained by BRA’s openside flanker Jayden Irwin with number 8 Cian McClean, one of five RBAI players in the squad named as vice-captain.

Campbell College’s Theo Scott completes the back starting back row.

Elias Agbonkpolar, Josh McColgan and Reuben McIlwrath have been named to start in the front row while Charlie Best and Archie Graham will pack down in the second row.

Sam Harper and Josh McCaughey start at scrumhalf and fly-half respectively, with Campbell duo Isaac Hatch and Paul Henry being named in the midfield. 

Jack Coulter and Aaron Lowey will occupy the wings, with Ballymena Academy’s James McMillan completing the starting line-up at full back. 

Charlie Reaney, Reuben Edmondson and Noah Carson have been named as front row cover, with Austin Adair and James Lennon also named on the bench. 

James Wells, Olllie Worth and Ryan Hamilton provide backline cover.
