“We feel as a squad we are getting better each week and growing in confidence with each round. We feel we have turned a corner since Christmas and the boys have been excellent in terms of implementing the learning from throughout the season. One area we’ve been really pleased with is the sense of unity within the squad. Particularly after missing much of this last season, we have placed an emphasis on getting that side of our game right.

"Captain Conor McGrath has provided excellent leadership alongside Myles Lowe and Chris Beaumont. Jacob Boyd, Bryn Ward and Jamie Beattie have enjoyed the experience of Cup rugby so far with some excellent performances.”

Team Talk:

Director of Rugby, Nick Wells:

"I would consider this to be a strong Methodist College 1st XV. We have had a reasonably good season, suffering only two defeats against Campbell College and Blackrock College Dublin.

"We feel we are a very balanced side with several game-changing players. Patrick Fullarton-Healy (Second Row), Josh Stevens (Openside) and Ben McFarlane (Fullback) have all represented Ulster Schools U18s. Michael Crothers (Number 8), Peter O’Hagan (Centre) and Lorcan Hanratty (Centre) have all represented Ulster U19s.

"Two tough away fixtures have set us up well for a semi-final at Kingspan Stadium and we’re looking forward to the challenge from RBAI. They will be well organised and committed to progressing to a final."
