Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup
On Saturday, in the Schools’ Cup quarter-finals, Campbell College hosted Regent House School in a game the Campbell College team won, 35-8.
Campbell scored five tries through Russ Lovo, with a brace, Ruairi Parks, Aaron Lowey and Dylan Armstrong.
Jack Best had a fine morning off the tee with all five successful conversion kicks.
The Regent House points came through a Jed Pountney try which was converted by Zach McMinn.
Rainey Endowed School entertained Methodist College in a game MCB won, 24-13.
The Rainey points were all scored by Adrian Martin who ran in for a try, added the extras and kicked one successful penalty goal.
The Methody points came through tries from Callum Largey, Isaac Bell, Peter Molloy and Ruairi Kennedy.
Louis Curran added two successful conversion kicks.
Sullivan Upper School played Ballymena Academy in a game Ballymena won, 22-10.
Louis McKeown scored a try for Sullivan to which Henry Calvert added the conversion as well as kicking one successful penalty goal.
The Ballymena Academy points came through tries from Jacob Casson, Billy Wylie and James McMillan.
James capped a fine personal performance with two successful conversions as well as one penalty-kick.
Wallace High School played RBAI in a game RBAI won, 20-0.
Reuben McIlrath, Ross Dillon and Andrew Purcell scored the RBAI tries.
Charlie O’Connor was successful with one conversion as well as one penalty kick.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Shield
On Friday 6 November, Chambers Park, home of Portadown RFC, was the venue when Portadown College played Royal School Armagh in their quarter-final game.
The Royal School Armagh team won the game, 33-0.
Alex Stinson, Joshua Crawford, Patrick Seweryn, Charlie Reaney and Sam Gray each scored one try for RS Armagh to which Tom Kennedy added four successful conversion kicks.
Both teams, their coaches and supporters, would like to thank Portadown Rugby Club for the provision of facilities and hosting this game.
On Saturday, Ballyclare High School played Down High School in a game Ballyclare High won, 15-8.
Ballyclare High scored three unconverted tries through Patrick McCleary, Austin Adair and Josh McColgan.
Dylan McMullan scored an unconverted try for Down High with Josh McCaughey adding one successful penalty kick.
Belfast Royal Academy hosted Royal School Dungannon in an exciting game BRA won eventually by 33-21.
James Murray, Daniel Bell, Oscar Coiley and Zach Archer each scored a try for BRA with Connor McVicker adding two successful conversion kicks as well as three penalty goals.
RS Dungannon contributed a lot to the power and pace of the game.
They got some reward for their endeavours with tries from Armandas Kaminskas and Adam Nixon.
James Gibson was successful with one conversion kick as well as three penalty goals.
Coleraine Grammar School hosted Friends’ School Lisburn in a game Coleraine Grammar won, 39-0.
Coleraine Grammar scored six tries in the course of the game through Luke McMillan, Oliver McClean, with two, Lewis Marshall, Cody Moffatt and Joe Coates.
Ben Todd was successful with three of his conversion kicks as well as with one penalty kick.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Bowl
In the quarter-finals, Dromore High School was scheduled to have played Antrim Grammar School but the game fell victim to the very wet weather.
Enniskillen Royal Grammar School played Banbridge Academy and recorded a 23-7 victory.
Jake Irwin and Adam Little scored the Enniskillen tries with the talented Sam Paton weighing in with two successful conversion kicks as well as two penalty goals.
Limavady Grammar School played Larne Grammar School in a game Limavady Grammar won, 13-6.
Limavady Grammar scored two unconverted tries through Alex Martin and Matthew Rhodes with Alexander Howe kicking one successful penalty goal.
Jonnie Kennedy was successful with two penalty kicks for Larne Grammar.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools' Trophy
In the quarter-finals, Belfast High School hosted Bangor Academy in a game Belfast High won, 22-7.
Ben Gardner scored two tries for Belfast High with Evan Prior running in for a third.
Ben capped a fine personal performance with two successful penalty kicks as well as one penalty goal.
Bangor Academy contributed a lot to the game and got some reward for their efforts when Steven Boyd touched down for a try which was converted by Sean Hynes.
Foyle College played Cambridge House Grammar School in a high-scoring game Foyle College won, 32-27.
Foyle College scored four tries as well as three conversions and two penalties.
Thom O’Neill, Thomas Nelis, Lewis Anderson and Cian O’Leary scored the tries with Darwyn Nutt adding the extras to three tries as well as converting two of the tries.
The Cambridge House points came through tries from Henri Kyle, with a brace, and Tom Murray.
Scott Steele had a great game “off the tee” with three successful conversion kicks as well as two successful penalty goals.
Once all the results of the Schools’ Cup, Subsidiary Shield, Schools’ Bowl and Schools’ Trophy quarter-final games were known, the draws for the semi-finals took place.
The draws were organised by Richard Clingan, Chairman of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Rugby Committee, and were made Mrs Hilary Woods, Principal, Belfast Royal Academy, Mr Graeme Spratt, a member of the Danske Bank Corporate Banking team and Richard Clingan.

These Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup semi-finals will take place on Monday 2 March and Wednesday 4 March at the Affidea Stadium with both games kicking off at 2.30pm.

Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Competitions
On Tuesday 3 February, Pirrie Park was the venue when Methodist College played Sullivan Upper School in a replay of their previously drawn Medallion Shield quarter-final game.
At the end of this well-contested game, Sullivan Upper emerged as 10-3 winners.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2XV Competitions
On Thursday 5 February, Omagh Academy played Bangor Grammar School in their 2XV Trophy semi-final replay game.
At the end of this closely contested game, Bangor Grammar School emerged 17-14 winners.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 3XV Competitions
Ballymena Academy 3XV hosted Campbell College 4XV in their postponed 3XV Cup quarter-final game.
The final score in this final game was Ballymena Academy 12-22 Campbell College.
Meanwhile, at Osbourne Park, RBAI 4XV played RBAI 5XV in their delayed 3XV Trophy quarter-final game.
RBAI 4XV recorded a 54-14 win in this game.
On Thursday, Methodist College 3XV played Belfast Royal Academy 3XV in their 3XV Cup semi-final game.
MCB won this game, 50-14.
1XV Friendlies
Lurgan College recently played a Methodist College “Senior” Select XV in a closely contested game Lurgan College won, 26-24.
Kody Watson, Ben Maxwell, Tyler Devlin and Seth Martin scored the Lurgan tries with Ben capping a fine personal performance by adding three successful conversion kicks.
The MCB points came through a hattrick of tries from Jonny Gillespie alongside one try from Jack Moran.
Leo Hutton added the extras to two of the Methody tries.
