Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup
Saturday 8 November saw the third series of group stage games take place.
In Group A, Belfast High School played Omagh Academy in an exciting game Omagh Academy won 24-22.
Belfast High scored three tries through Evan Prior and Ben Gardner, who ran in for two.
Matthew McCabe was successful with one penalty kick as well as two conversion kicks.
Omagh Academy scored four tries through Isaac Crawford, with two, Sam Harper and Sam Braden.
Sam Harper was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
Regent House School hosted Ballyclare High School and won the game 26-10.
Lewis Robinson touched down twice for Regent, with Finn McClean and Noah Miskimmin each scoring one try.
Zach McMinn added the extras to three of the Regent House School tries.
Ballyclare High’s points came through one try from Austin Adair with James Woodside adding one successful conversion kick as well as one penalty goal.
In Group B, Rainey Endowed School played Down High School in a game Down High won 24-10.
Rainey scored one try through Matthew Chambers with Adrian Martin adding one successful conversion kick as well as one penalty goal.
Down High scored four tries through Jacob Bradshaw, Lewis Connolly, Ethan Whyte and Fergus Emmett.
Josh McCaughey added two successful conversion kicks for Down High.
Dromore High School played Limavady Grammar School in a game Limavady Grammar won 25-19.
Dromore High scored three tries through Blake Orr, Daniel Serplis and Andrew Waugh.
Alfie Clarke was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
The Limavady points came through tries from Killian Brolly, Ewan Brennan and Alex Martin.
Alex Howe added two successful conversion kicks as well as two successful penalty goals.
In Group C, Bangor Academy played Portadown College in a game Portadown College won 42-12.
Bangor Academy put on a very spirited performance and got reward for their endeavours with tries from Steven Boyd and David Henning to which Steven added one successful conversion.
Portadown College scored six tries through Sammy Walsh, with two, Harvey Creaney, with two, Andrew Galloway and Thomas Kelly.
Charlie Rodgers had a great game off the tee with all six successful conversion kicks.
Dalriada School played Banbridge Academy and recorded a 19-10 victory.
Marcus Forgrave, with two, and Reuben Kelly were the Dalriada School try scorers.
Chris Finney was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
Banbridge touched down for two unconverted tries through Conor McNamee and Dawson Knox.
In Group D, Coleraine Grammar School entertained Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
With Austin Henry leading from the front for Coleraine Grammar, the home team scored two tries through Alec Doherty.
Ben Todd added two successful conversion kicks as well as one penalty goal.
The Enniskillen points came through a Sam Paton penalty goal.
Friends’ School Lisburn played Larne Grammar School and won the very closely contested game by 13-12.
Friends’ scored two tries through Paddy Arnold and Ross Glover with Ross adding one successful penalty goal.
The Larne Grammar points came through tries from Jonnie Kennedy and Ryan McDowell with Jonnie adding the extras to one of the tries.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield
The draws for the Medallion Shield, Rounds 1&2, took place recently in Dromore High School. The draws were organised by Gareth Bronte, Medallion Shield co-ordinator and completed by Mrs Ruth Ravey, Vice-Principal, Dromore High school.

This game must be played on/before Saturday 15 November.
Byes; Antrim Grammar School, Bangor Academy, Belfast High School, Foyle College Grosvenor Grammar School, Strabane Academy and Wellington College.
The winner from Lurgan College v Limavady Grammar plus the 7 byes, were added to: Banbridge Academy, Cambridge House Grammar School, Dalriada School, Dromore High School, Enniskillen Royal Grammar, Friends’ School Lisburn, Regent House School and Royal School Dungannon for the Round 2 draw.

1XV Friendlies
Coleraine Grammar School travelled recently to play Belvedere College in Dublin in a high-scoring game Belvedere College won 50-24.
Belvedere College scored eight tries with Isaac Soden and Ronan McCann each scoring two and Alex Liddy, Luca O’Neill, Joshua Smyth and Lorcan Butler touching down for one apiece.
Ollie Ward was successful with five of his conversions.
Coleraine Grammar School’s points came through tries from Alex Doherty, Archie McClenaghan and Ben Todd, with a brace.
Ben added two successful conversions.
On Wednesday 5 November, Sullivan Upper School hosted Terenure College Dublin in an exciting game Terenure won 26-12.
Sullivan scored two tries through Scott Henderson and Sebby Gorman with Henry Calvert adding one successful conversion kick.
Tommy Smyth touched down twice for Terenure, with Zac Grady and Andrew Smyth running in for one try apiece.
Euan McGinty added three successful conversion kicks for the Terenure College team.
On Friday 7 November, Methodist College played Kirkham Grammar School from Lancashire
This game, played in very difficult overhead conditions, saw MCB record a 43-19 victory.
Oliver Gartley, with a brace, Callum Godfrey, James Reid, Luca Vericat, Callum Largy and debutant, Harry Hobbs, were the MCB try scorers.
Louis Curran was successful with four out of four conversion kicks.
Kirkham Grammar’s points came through tries from Lawrence Ogbonnaya, with two, and Arthur Scrase.
Jack Wilson was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
Eight 1XV friendly games took place on Saturday 8 November.
Bangor Grammar School played Antrim Grammar School and won the game by 33-14.
The Bangor Grammar points came through tries from Adam Bickerstaff, Ryan Gowdy, Bruce McClure, Jack Patterson and Charlie Foster Barr.
Ryan Gowdy was also successful with four of his conversion kicks.
Antrim Grammar scored two tries Daniel Blair and Tom McNeilly.
Isaac Lynn added the extras to both tries.
Belfast Royal Academy travelled to play the Blackrock College in Dublin in a game Blackrock won 35-17.
Paul Harnett, Jack O’Neill, Sean Traynor, Ethan Callaghan and Euan Gorarke each scored one try for the home team with Daniel Larkin adding three successful conversions and Jack O’Neill adding two.
Elias Agbonkpolar and Blake McCloskey scored the BRA tries.
Connor McVicker added two successful conversions as well as one penalty goal.
Cambridge House Grammar School played Royal School Dungannon in a game Royal School Dungannon won 26-7.
The Cambridge House points came through a try from Thomas Calwell which was converted by Thomas Moorehead.
An excellent performance from James Gibson laid the foundations for the RS Dungannon result.
James scored a hattrick of tries as well as a hattrick of successful conversion kicks.
The remaining Royal School Dungannon points came through a try from Isaac Neill.
Campbell College played Ballymena Academy and won this closely contested game by 29-25.
Russ Lovo, Leo Graham, Caelan Doy-Dolan and Xander Megarity scored the Campbell College tries to which Jack Best added three successful conversion kicks as well as one penalty goal.
The Ballymena points came through tries from Joshua Patterson, with two, and James McMillan.
James had also a fine morning off the tee with two successful conversion kicks as well as two successful penalty kicks.
Grosvenor Grammar School played Lurgan College in a game Lurgan College won 14-5.
The Grosvenor Grammar points came through an unconverted try from Sam Ferguson.
Seth Martin and Charlie Boyce each scored a try for Lurgan College with Ben Maxwell adding the extras to both tries.
RBAI hosted St Mary’s College Dublin in a closely contested game St Mary’s College won 14-12.
Dylan Gray and Adam Millar scored the RBAI tries with Charlie O’Connor adding one successful conversion kick.
The St Mary’s points came through tries from Donal Manzor and Josh Kelly to which Paul Neary added both conversions.
Royal School Armagh travelled to play Belvedere College in Dublin in a game Belvedere College team 42-21.
Belvedere College scored six tries through Ronan McCann, Ollie Ward, Alex Liddy, Luca O’Neill, Joshua Smyth and Lorcan Butler.
Ollie Ward was successful with all six of his conversion kicks.
The RS Armagh points came through tries from Charlie Reaney, with two, and James Flanagan.
Tom Kennedy added all three successful conversions.
Wallace High School played Clongowes Wood College in a game the Clongowes Wood College team won 19-7.
Luke Dillon scored the Wallace try to which James Curran added the conversion.
Clongowes Wood scored three tries through Mike O’Sullivan, with two, and Tom Walsh.
Ollie Worth was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
