Ulster struck early when Hinch centre George Pringle put in a well-executed kick pass to find flanker Josh Stevens out wide. Stevens did well to make ground, then offloaded inside to James McNabney at full pace, and the big number 8 burst clear to dot down behind the posts. James Humphreys added the extras to take the home side 7 points clear.
Aaron Sexton was next to strike when he gathered a loose ball at pace on halfway to split the Welsh defense and race clear for the second Ulster try. Humphreys added the conversion for a 14-0 lead.
The Ulster boys were very industrious in defense, and quick turnover ball created space in the midfield for Pringle to exploit, and he neatly drew the Welsh fullback to put Rory Telfer clear to score behind the posts. Humphreys made it three from three for a 21-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, Pringle and Telfer again combined beautifully for another well-worked try, Telfer diving over close to the posts for try number 4. Humphreys added the extras to take Ulster 28 points clear.
With 10 minutes of the first half remaining, James Humphreys put in a pinpoint kick for Aaron Sexton to take, but the ball took a bad bounce, and the chance of a fifth try was missed.
However, Sexton made sure of a second try of the evening just before halftime when his pace was just too much for the Welsh defence, and he sprinted clear down the left wing to touchdown in the corner. Humphreys just missed with his conversion attempt to leave the home side with a comfortable halftime lead of 33-0.
Aaron Sexton was in fine form, and with just 5 minutes of the second half played, he put 5 more points on the scoreboard to claim his hat trick. Humphreys added the extras from the touchline to make it 40-0.
Queens prop Jack Boal was next to strike when he gathered a loose ball close to the 22 and raced between the posts. Humphreys' extras made it 47-0.
The Welsh boys never gave up and managed to score two unconverted tries to close the gap to 47-10, but the Ulster boys had the final say in the last 15 minutes.
First, winger Ben McFarlane did very well to finish off a neat bit of backline play to score the eighth Ulster try, which was converted by Humphreys.
The final score of the game was well taken by replacement prop Flynn Longstaff, who took the ball at pace and battled his way to cross the whitewash close to the posts. James Humphreys made it 8 conversions from 8 attempts to complete the scoreline of 61-10.
An excellent run-out for Gavin Hogg's young lads, with James McNabney, Reuben Crothers, James McCormick, and Jack Boal catching the eye up front. Aaron Sexton, George Pringle, Rory Telfer, and Ben McFarlane enjoyed this game, as did James Humphreys, who had a fine night in the number 10 jersey scored 8 out of 9 conversions.
