Preview | Leinster (H)

Richie Murphy's side return to BKT United Rugby Championship action following the international break with a huge interprovincial derby against league leaders, Leinster at Kingspan Stadium.

The province is marking the derby with a significant week, as Ulster Rugby celebrate 100 years of Ravenhill.

The first ever game at Ravenhill back in 1924, was Ulster v Leinster, and 100 years later - the fixture is still important as ever.

Back in 1924, the Ulstermen won a close contest, by 14-6.

Flash-forward to 2024, where Ulster will be looking to get back on track against their interpro rivals.

Don't miss out on the latest chapter in our historic rivalry with the men from Leinster!

Murphy's team will be looking to get the campaign back on track after going into the break after a narrow 21-19 defeat against Cardiff Rugby at Cardiff Arms Park in Round 6.

Ulster have performed well at home this season in front of support, winning three from three so far. They have a stiff test against a Leinster side who have started the season very strongly, winning all six of their matches and collecting the maximum points on offer in all but one fixture.

Leo Cullen's side have recorded two interprovincial victories over Munster and Connacht, winning at a sold out Croke park and then beating the Westerners in Galway.

Before the break, Leinster signed off with a 24-6 victory over Emirates Lions at Aviva Stadium.

The Dublin side are second in the URC for tries scored, with 28 scored across the six rounds.

Last time out

Cooney. Clutch.

Last time Leinster came to Kingspan Stadium, Ulster secured a memorable last minute victory through a John Cooney penalty to clinch the win.

Rob Herring put the home side ahead before Leinster hit back with three tries from Cormac Foley, Charlie Ngatai and Michael Ala'alatoa.

A special interception try from Jacob Stockdale sparked life into the contest again and John Cooney's late penalty clinched the victory that secured top eight in the URC and Champions Cup rugby.
