Foundation Golf Day Raises £16,500 to Support Grassroots Rugby

The Ulster Rugby Foundation’s inaugural Golf Day, held on Thursday, 17 April 2025, at Shandon Park Golf Club, was a resounding success - raising an impressive £16,500 in support of grassroots rugby across the province.

The event brought together representatives from local businesses for a day of friendly competition and networking, all in aid of an important cause. Current Ulster Rugby players Conor McKee, David Shanahan, Marcus Rea, and Stacey Sloan joined guests on the fairways, while evening celebrations featured a special Q&A session hosted by broadcaster Pete Snodden. Foundation Ambassadors Jacob Stockdale and India Daley shared personal insights into their rugby journeys and the meaningful impact of the Foundation’s work.

Having secured official charitable status in March 2024, the Ulster Rugby Foundation is dedicated to harnessing the power of sport and the core values of rugby to create positive change in the lives of participants and within local communities. The funds raised from the Golf Day will directly support initiatives aimed at making rugby more accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. These include programmes focused on growing participation among women and girls, expanding access to disability rugby, and nurturing young talent through local clubs and schools.<br>
