Biography
Ulster's record appearance holder, Rob Herring, is a vastly experienced hooker for both Ulster and Ireland.
The South African born forward is Irish-Qualified through family and signed for Ulster Rugby in 2012 after a short stint with London Irish.
Herring made his Ireland international debut in 2014 and has went onto make over 40 caps, and play a key role for the national side - playing in two Rugby World Cups and multiple Guinness Six Nations Championships.
Ulster fans have become used to his try-scoring prowess, with a great ability of knowing when to peel off the back of mauls to produce the finish. Rob is also viewed as a strong scrummaging hooker.
In November 2023, Rob wrote his name into the Ulster history books by surpassing the appearance record of 229 that was held by legends Darren Cave and Andrew Trimble.
A testament to his longevity and professionalism, Rob continues to add to his caps record in his 15th season.
