Ulster secured the signature of exciting backline player, Jamie Benson, on a two-year-deal from English Prem side, Harlequins, this summer.
The 23-year-old is Irish Qualified and can perform in a number of positions including fly-half, centre and at full-back.
A strong playmaker, Benson is also strong from the kicking tee as shown in last week’s pre-season victory over Edinburgh where he successfully converted three kicks from three.
A promising talent through the Harlequins Academy programme, Benson made a positive impression and continued to progress as a senior player, making his PREM debut in November 2024 and scoring a first Investec Champions Cup try against Bayonne in 2025.
The former University of Cambridge graduate has said that working alongside international fly-halves such as Marcus Smith and Jarrod Evans at the Stoop has pushed him to be a better player.
With competition in Richie Murphy’s backline positions, Benson will be aiming to put down a marker ahead of an exciting first season ahead as an Ulsterman.
