Biography
James McCormick is a promising hooker who has progressed through the Ulster Rugby pathway and into the senior squad.
James has developed a reputation for his physicality, work-rate and accuracy at the set-piece.
After transitioning from back-row to hooker in his school days at Dalriada School, he played for Ulster at age-grade level before joining the Academy set-up.
He also played in the Ireland U20 Grand Slam winning side of 2022, working under now Ulster Rugby Head Coach, Richie Murphy.
The Ballymoney man had a breakthrough season in 2024/25, after making his senior debut against Glasgow Warriors in the BKT United Rugby Championship and earning his first Ulster start against Vodacom Bulls at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
He has also gained valuable minutes for both Ulster ‘A’ and City of Armagh RFC in club rugby.
In a competitive position, James will be aiming to push for selection every week.
