Biography
Capable of playing across the backline, Ethan McIlroy is a versatile player who has the skillset to perform on the wing, in midfield or at full-back.
Strong under the high ball and an intelligent player, Ethan has worked hard after suffering an ACL injury in January 2025 against Leicester Tigers.
A standout schools player for Methodist College Belfast, Ethan joined the Ulster Rugby Sub-Academy and gained playing time for Ulster A.
He made his senior Ulster debut against Leinster back in 2019, while a member of the Ulster Rugby Sub-Academy.
In 2022, McIlroy was called up for the Emerging Ireland Tour to South Africa.
The 26-year-old is an experienced player for his age, and continues to be a strong option for the backline positions.
